Mikayla Anderson

Mikayla has danced with Dissonance Dance Theater under the direction of Shawn Short as an apprentice and a trainee with Montgomery Ballet, directed by Danny Mitsios. She has honed her skills through intensive training programs, including the BalletX Winter Intensive, Complexions Intensive, and Ballet Tucson Summer Intensive. Her commitment to excellence is further evidenced by her participation in the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater Company Experience. Additionally, Mikayla’s training background includes. Pittsburgh Ballet Theater Graduate Program under Marjorie Grundvig, Wayne State University under Meg Paul, and Valentina’s School of Ballet under Valentina Barsukova. Mikayla’s performance repertoire highlights include “Shade” by Kareem B. Goodwin, “Time” by Shawn Short, “Le Conservatoire” – Pas De Trois, and “Paul and Virginia” – Pas De by Andrew Bournonville. At Montgomery Ballet, Mikayla performed in “The Nutcracker” as the Kissing Doll, Snow, Waltz of the Flowers, and Spanish roles. Mikayla is thrilled to be joining Virginia National Ballet as an apprentice for the 2024-25 season!
