Ballet:

Ballet classes for Pre-Schoolers, Adults, and Pre-Professional students (8 Levels of Vaganavoa Syllabus.)  The beginner levels concentrate on proper posture, placement and basic technique.  Each successive level introduces new movements and the combinations become progressively more advanced.   Pre-pointe is introduced at Ballet 5 (with teacher permission), and is included in classes in Levels 6-8.

Pre Ballet:  Pink;  Ballet 1:  Light Blue;  Ballet 2:  Marine;  Ballet 3:  Mulberry;  Ballet 4:  Teal;  Ballet 5:  Royal;  Ballet 6:  Plum;  Ballet 7:  Navy;  Ballet 8:  Black

Contemporary:

Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet.  Dancers focus on connecting their mind and body through fluid dance moves. This allows dancers to explore emotions, and use their natural energy to portray personal expression in their dance techniques.

Attire:  leotard with convertible tights, ballet slippers or “foot undies”

Jazz:

Key features of jazz dance styles include using feet, arm, and hand positions, isolations (head, shoulder, hips), timing, shape, and movements including body rolls, jazz walks, swings, and kicks.

Attire:  leotard with convertible tights, bike shorts, or jazz pants, tan jazz shoes

Hip Hop:

A high energy hip hop class learning street styles such as popping, locking, breaking, and more, to hip hop music.

Attire:  Loose fitting clothes, clean black tennis shoes.

Acro:

Learn tumbling and acrobatic movements. Increase flexibility, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, timing, body awareness, self-discipline, and confidence.

Attire:  Biketard, leotard or bra top with bikeshorts or leggings, bare feet

Progessing Ballet Technique (PBT):

Join our certified instructor for PBT, an innovative program developed by Marie Walton-Mahon for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet.  It focuses on core stability, weight placement and alignment with the use of exercise balls and therabands.

Attire:  Ballet attire.
